Loot To Forge Armor Tier List
How helmet and armor rolls work, how to read Power, and when a new piece is worth the ores.
Why armor matters in +1 Loot To Forge
Weapons get the highlight clips, but helmet and armor are a core Power lever. At the hub forge you can switch to the Armor tab and spend dungeon ores on defensive pieces. Those pieces exist primarily to raise your Power, which feeds training, stage clears, and how safely you can walk the linear dungeon. Ignoring armor while chasing Legendary swords is one of the fastest ways to stall mid game.
Use this page with the weapons tier list, how to forge, and enchant and upgrades. Armor does not replace a weak blade, and a great blade still needs Power from gear and Rebirth multipliers.
Helmet vs armor rolls (RNG)
When you forge on the Armor tab, the game decides whether you receive a Helmet or an Armor piece. That outcome is RNG—you do not pick the slot in advance. Plan for variance:
- Budget ores knowing some crafts will duplicate a slot you already filled.
- Duplicate lower-rarity pieces are sell candidates when you need Coins for backpack upgrades.
- Keep the higher Power piece in each slot; cosmetic preference is secondary in an incremental dungeon sim.
Because slot RNG is real, do not empty your entire rare-ore stash on a single emotional craft. Split materials across a few attempts when you are chasing a balanced set, especially before a hard stage or Frost Tower session.
How to read Power value
Every forged defensive piece should be judged by Power contribution first:
- Compare the new roll to the equipped piece in the same slot.
- Equip only if Power goes up (or rarity jumps enough that you expect better scaling after enchants/training).
- Sell or store leftovers once bag pressure returns.
Power is the shared language between weapons, armor, training, and stage difficulty. If a shiny new helmet loses Power to your current Rare armor piece, keep the stronger number. Fashion can wait until both slots are Legendary-quality and your stages are stable.
Soft tiers for decision-making
| Tier | Meaning | Player action |
|---|---|---|
| S | New piece raises Power and matches your push target | Equip immediately |
| A | Equal Power but higher rarity / better long-term | Equip if ores are replaceable |
| B | Slight upgrade, bag almost full | Equip, sell junk, upgrade backpack |
| C | Sidegrade or duplicate | Sell for Coins |
| D | Lower Power than equipped | Sell; do not force it |
These tiers are decision rules, not named item lists. Patch notes can move exact Power ranges; the compare-and-equip habit stays correct.
Rarity ladder on armor
Armor follows the same rarity climb players see on blades: Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic → Legendary. Early Commons are fine for the first hallway segments. By the time stage Power gaps widen, you want Rare or better in both slots. Epic armor pairs naturally with Epic weapons; Legendary armor is part of serious deep-stage and tower prep.
Early game
- Forge armor as soon as you have spare ores after a usable weapon.
- Accept Common/Uncommon helmets to start the Power snowball.
- Prioritize backpack Coins if you keep dying with a full bag—capacity upgrades often beat a marginal armor roll.
Mid game
- Target Rare/Epic in both slots. One empty slot is a silent Power leak.
- When RNG gives three helmets in a row, sell the weakest and keep forging; do not rage-quit the Armor tab.
- Coordinate with weapons: if your sword already clears a stage cleanly, spend the next ore batch on the weaker armor slot.
Late game
- Chase Legendary pieces for Frost Tower and late hallway bosses.
- Replace Epic only when the Power delta is real or you are specifically preparing a hard gate.
- After a big armor upgrade, re-check stage retreat rules—you may suddenly clear a floor that previously demanded a leave.
When to replace armor
Replace a piece when any of these are true:
- The new forge shows higher Power in that slot.
- You jumped a full rarity tier and mid-game stages started feeling sticky again.
- You Rebirthed, recovered Power via training, and your old Commons/Rares no longer match your weapon rarity.
- You are preparing Frost Tower or a boss that previously shredded you, and both weapon and armor need a coordinated bump.
Hold off on replacing when:
- The roll is a duplicate slot with equal or lower Power.
- You desperately need Coins for backpack upgrades more than another 1% Power.
- Your weapon is the bottleneck (enemies still take too many hits)—fix that first via how to forge.
Armor, enchants, and upgrades
Armor raises baseline Power; enchants and hub upgrades multiply how far that Power goes. After you seat a strong helmet and armor piece:
- Visit the Enchants station if Coins allow and your weapon is ready for investment.
- Keep backpack upgrades on cadence so longer runs feed better forge materials.
- Rebirth when the threshold is available—permanent Power and Coin multipliers make future armor crafts easier to fund.
Details live on enchant and upgrades. Do not dump every Coin into cosmetic flex while your bag is still tiny.
Sample mid-game loop with armor in mind
- Clear as far as the four-hit rule allows; retreat before a wipe.
- Sell true junk; keep forge-worthy ores.
- If weapon Power is fine, forge Armor tab until both slots beat your previous pieces.
- Buy a backpack level if capacity aborted the last run early.
- Train briefly, then push the next stage with the new Power total.
Repeat. Armor progress is a cycle, not a one-time checklist.
Common mistakes
- Weapon-only forging: leaving helmet/armor empty while wondering why stages spike.
- Keeping low-Power legendaries of wrong comparison: always read Power, not only rarity labels.
- Ignoring RNG budgeting: spending all best ores on one craft, then entering a hard stage with an unfinished set.
- Never selling duplicates: bag clogs kill run length and Coin flow.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Loot To Forge questions.
Can I choose helmet or armor when forging?
No. The Armor tab uses RNG to decide whether you receive a Helmet or an Armor piece. Budget ores for duplicate rolls and keep the higher Power item in each slot.
How do I know if new armor is better?
Compare Power on the new piece to the equipped item in the same slot. Equip upgrades; sell sidegrades and weaker duplicates for Coins.
Should I forge armor or weapons first?
Get a usable weapon early, then fill both armor slots. After that, spend ores on whichever slot is blocking the four-hit clear rule.
When should I replace Epic armor?
Replace when a forge clearly raises Power, when you need Legendary for tower or late stages, or when your weapon rarity has pulled far ahead of your defensive pieces.
